A blended, food, travel and sports crazed family of 6, led by 2 millennials who are rewriting the generational thinking that was passed down to them, while teaching their children the meaning of discipleship by following Christ the best way they know how. Large families rock! (sometimes).
I’ll be the first one to admit, hubby and I fail often as parents.
BUT WHERE WE LACK, GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES
Every day, we’re learning, growing, and applying the lessons that we’ve learned from each child and figuring life out along the way. You know me but allow me to introduce you to the family that drives this blog and from where my experiences, epic fails, and greatest blessings stem from.
My headache, medicine, and doctor all in one. Over these 13 years, he’s taught me the true definition of what putting forth effort and consistency looks like and the definitions of being real, patient and accountable.
The oldest aka “Mr. Transformer”– My transformer loving, autism doesn’t define him he defines autism, will spend all day in his room drawing if I let him, thinks he knows everything but really knows nothing 16-year-old son, who marinated in my mess the longest, but also made me grow up very quickly after having him at the age of 16.
“Mr. Athlete”- My I can play all sports without even practicing, I know way more than you even when you prove me wrong, I’m going to the NFL just watch, bonus son who taught me to overcome my bitterness and become a better woman and mother.
“Ms. Independent”- My wise beyond her years, I love and trust the Lord but don’t know the power of my own strength, 2-lbs and 2 months early at birth, I can help you conquer all of your problems but won’t go outside of my comfort zone for anybody (we’ll see about that), future doctor, singer, cheerleader, and world traveler daughter who holds me accountable and taught me the importance of having a growth mindset.
The baby aka Velcro, Ms. Know it ALL, “The Sports Guru”- THIS CHILD…sigh. She is my God definitely has a sense of humor, give me strength hourly Jesus, why is she so much like me Lord, if you don’t go somewhere and sit down, I can do ALL things before you even explain them, sanctified thug of a daughter, who taught me how to laugh at myself and get back up even when I think I’ve failed.
